Halloween weekend is almost here, the clocks fall back Sunday, and the city is trading iced coffee for hot cider. This week we've got a fizzy, fruit-forward jar straight out of the bodega fridge, a Queens stop worth the A train, and the NYC and national headlines you should actually know about. 21+, as always. |

Zuper Zoda
Lineage: OZ × Acai Gelato × Seattle Soda · Aroma: sweet fruit, creamy gas · THC: 27.4% · Indica-hybrid · Indoor · 3.5 g
Every New Yorker has a soda story. Maybe it's the egg cream at the corner luncheonette, a cherry Brooklyn soda after stickball, or the 2am bodega fridge glowing like a lighthouse. Zuper Zoda is that fridge in a jar. Crack the lid and you get sweet fruit up top, a creamy fizz in the middle, and a gassy finish that reminds you it means business.
It's a three-way cross of OZ, Acai Gelato, and Seattle Soda, grown indoors in small batches so the terps stay loud and the buds stay dense. At 27.4%, it's an indica-leaning hybrid with a smooth, laid-back finish. Roll one up after the parade, put a scary movie on, and let the city do its thing.

Stoops NYC is putting Flatiron on the map A social-equity shop doing it right in the Flatiron, and amNY just gave it the full profile. It's proof the good stuff isn't only happening downtown or in Brooklyn. Worth a detour on your way home from Madison Square Park. |
New York legal weed tops $4.1 billion, with 744 shops open The state says legal sales have passed $4.1B since December 2022, and 744 licensed stores are now open statewide. What that means for you: more licensed counters closer to your block, and more reasons to skip the smoke shop with no license on the wall. |
Paint & puff nights are coming to Brooklyn Brooklyn has a couple of creative sessions on the calendar: a Paint and 420 night on Nov 6 and a Paint & Bloom at RNR Dispensary on Nov 13. Bring a friend, grab a brush, and stay 21+. Dates come from an aggregator listing, so check with the host before you head out. |

Rescheduling: the judge says no more delays The DEA judge turned down opponents' request to reopen the hearing. Instead he's taking short written briefs on a GAO report, due Oct 29 with replies by Nov 5. It's still slow, but it's moving. Nothing changes at your local counter yet, and adult-use weed is still Schedule I at the federal level. |
Massachusetts votes on rolling back legal sales Nov 3 Next Tuesday, Question 8 asks Massachusetts voters whether to end adult-use sales. If it passes, they'd be the first state to undo legalization. Gov. Healey is urging a no vote, and polls lean against repeal. New York's market isn't affected, but the whole Northeast is watching. |
